The
Edo collection has a strong Japanese influence and is
named after an important period of Japanese garden development. The profile of the seat
is taken from a feature found on a wooden balustrade at Katsura Imperial Villa in
Kyoto. The seat back is reminiscent
of the sun and sun rays rising over the Japanese
landscape and incorporates the simple rectangle
common in Japanese furniture and architecture.
The
large Edo Japanese seat makes a superb focal point at the end of
a vista but looks equally as good
in an intimate corner of the garden or as seating in a
reception area in an office or
restaurant.
