This garden armchair has a strong Japanese influence and is named after an important
period of Japanese garden development. The profile of the seat is taken from a feature
found on a wooden balustrade at Katsura Imperial Villa in Kyoto. The seat back is
reminiscent of the sun and sun rays rising over the Japanese landscape and incorporates
the simple rectangle common in Japanese furniture and architecture.
The Edo Throne is a most elegant armchair and can be used with the larger seats as a
group. The throne also looks good on its own as a design feature or as a seat to relax
on ones own in a corner of the garden.
