This is a highbacked garden chair with a strong Japanese influence. The rectangular design of the back is
reminiscent of the Shoji screens in Japanese tea houses. The High Backed Edo dining chairs look good around
the octagonal table, where the high seat backs form an 'enclosed' dining area within the garden or on the
terrace. The Hadham bracket between the front legs of the chairs is also found on the rails between the legs
of the standard Octagonal table.
