This larger version of the classic Peacock seat is a grand piece of traditional 19th
century outdoor furniture. Developed from a seat found in an old Vicarage in Norfolk
and formed the origins of J P Whites business based at the Pyghtle Works of Bedford.
An oak version of a four seater of the Peacock design at Westbrook, Surrey is shown in
Gertrude Jekyll's book Garden Ornament published in 1918.
