The Biddenham three seater garden bench is a substantial piece of Victorian outdoor
furniture. The Biddenham design is featured in J P Whites catalogues of garden
furniture from the beginning of the 1920's. The elegant fretwork and highly styled
arms together with the detail of the front legs make this Biddenham garden seat a
great feature in the garden. Templates were taken from an early dilapidated example
and reconstructed. I has deepened the seat as the original was very shallow and a few
construction details have been changed to aid rain water to drain more quickly, but
otherwise the seat is a copy of the original.
In addition to the original Biddenham three seater, I has adapted the Biddenham design
to make the Biddenham armchair, two seater and four seater garden furniture.
