The three seater Edwardian garden bench is based on the Peacock seat but with a high
back with a gracefully curved back and 'flame' finials. The classic Edwardian design
was developed from 'Pyghtle A Design' originally made by White's of Bedford. I renamed
my design the 'Edwardian' after the classic Edwardian period of gardening. An original
example of this seat is shown in Gertrude Jekyll's book on Garden Ornament and Country
Houses. Andrew Crace gracefully interpreted the original drawing of the design in the
book to an elegant piece of furniture with a strong emphasis on the strength of the
construction and the classic design.
