The Biddenham two seater garden bench is a generous seat measuring nearly 4 feet between the highly styled arms and
front legs. The Biddenham is a solid design, and is based on an Edwardian design featuring in J P Whites catalogues of
garden furniture from the beginning of the 1920's. It is a traditional Victorian outdoor furniture, solid in
construction but elegant in design. The fretwork slats of the back are a strong feature of the Biddenham design. I
travelled to Madagascar in 2008 and has seen very similar fretwork on ballustrades of old houses and has wondered if
perhaps the origins of the fretwork are the same.
