I design and manufacture the finest, comfortable garden furniture here in my workshop in the countryside of Much
Hadham, Hertfordshire. All of my garden furniture is handmade in hardwood by local highly skilled machinists and
craftsmen. Emphasis is always on design, strength and durability of construction ensuring that all component parts
fit perfectly with traditional mortise and tenon joints.
In addition to my garden furniture collections, I also manufacture interior furniture and bespoke designs. Kitchen
table, refectory tables, gateleg and dining tables are a
specialty, but special designs include bespoke desks to cane
racks. Many of my classic garden furniture designs are influenced by the great masters such as JP White, William Kent,
Frederick Crace, Thomas Chippendale and Sir Edwin Lutyens. These period classic designs have been developed from
originals found in old gardens - often collapsed relics of their former glory, other seats have been found in old
catalogues, early photographs, old books, drawings or oil paintings. The Lutyens seat is a faithful copy of an original
at Hatfield House, and with the Kentian seat templates and working jigs and construction were taken directly from a pile
of wood - all that was left of the original seat. My original designs have often been inspired by travels around the world
: Indian and Japanese architecture and design have been strong influences. You will also find many of the seat designs
have been converted to wheelbarrow seats and chairs.
